00:45:33 Monster database of master branch on crawl.develz.org updated to: 0.35-a0-53-g511dc2e70d 02:46:23 so I found this error, or logic error 02:46:52 when I did the make it did: "removed './usr/games/crawl-ascii'" 02:47:45 though that was a link. Maybe part of the SlackBuild then... anyone use Slackware at all and develop DCSS? I'm still struggling to fix the SlackBuild... maybe had it working years ago to make ASCII AND tiles versions but things changed... 02:51:21 okay, I admit, that was in the SlackBUild. I tested make normally, and then in that... ended up different... so I did something wrong apparently 02:51:41 doing it normally did make both crawl-ascii and crawl (tiles) 02:57:37 one the SlackBuilds.org staff members modified my build and now I no longer know what it's doing... 02:57:47 they modified it but left it broken and said so in comments 03:55:17 ToME-SX needs set 'unmaintaned' or deleted if stopped working. I hope to salvage Crawl, Moria (works but needs newer fork), and ToME (AH) 04:37:44 Experimental (bcrawl) branch on underhound.eu updated to: 0.23-a0-5261-gd9800d219b 09:44:07 New branch created: pull/5083 (1 commit) 13https://github.com/crawl/crawl/pull/5083 09:44:08 03Coaxy02 07https://github.com/crawl/crawl/pull/5083 * 0.35-a0-54-g550aee1338: Except piety decay of good gods during penance 10(6 minutes ago, 1 file, 13+ 3-) 13https://github.com/crawl/crawl/commit/550aee13387b 10:11:01 <02Monkooky> Sludge elf design pitch- Every X levels, mutates a couple times. Can select mutations to 'lock in', turning 1 level of that mutation innate but getting a permanent penalty (-% hp? -slay -ev -int?) 11:48:36 <08o____0> Let them pick mutations instead of stats :P 12:13:16 <04dracoomega> The idea of getting naturally rotating mutation sets and the option to lock some of them in over time was something me and Index discussed while I was playtesting the sludge elf PR, actually. I recall that version being more like: "Every X levels, you get a batch of a couple random good mutations that completely replaces whatever the last batch was, but a couple times per game you are allowed to pick a mutation you have to lock in 12:13:16 forever - with no penalty, but just a limited number of uses of this." So it ideally strikes a nice balance between 'waiting for a mutation you want more' versus 'getting more power in the near-term (because the next reroll of it might be worse for you'. People do love locking in their mutations, if some of the death form chatter is to be believed >.> (In general, I think there may be space for this sort of design entirely separate of 12:13:16 djinn-of-talismans. Like, aside from some thematic parallels of 'changing your body', a lot of mutations don't even interact well with a lot of forms (ie: are suppressed by them outright) 12:35:21 that discussion predates death form talismans, trust me ☺ 16:36:26 -!- MakMorn_ is now known as MakMorn 22:35:00 -!- darwin is now known as Guest1512 22:39:17 -!- Guest1512 is now known as darwin 22:46:58 sometimes/often when I compile with TILES=y I just get a result it's the ASCII version. I did "make prefix=/usr/share/games/crawl COPY_FONTS=1 DATADIR=/usr/share/games/crawl SAVEDIR='~/.crawl/' TILES=y" and later (redo) "make DATADIR=/usr/share/games/crawl SAVEDIR='~/.crawl/' TILES=y" but I got the ASCII version. This was make done manually, not even in my SlackBuild... 22:47:43 yesterday when I did this, I did get the tiles version once but was trying different prefixes after that 22:48:04 I also did 'updatedb;locate crawl' and there wasn't another installed 22:48:46 oops. Second time I took out $DATADIR also and left it and prefix default 22:49:10 the SlackBuilds.org (SBo) people are saying install into /usr/share/games
