Swapping effects do tend to work well in a bunch of other roguelikes, but are usually on much 17:17:22 more limited resources like consumables and charges and cooldowns rather than Crawl's ever-troublesome large amounts of MP to spam per-fight. I don't know if it's much of a fit for Warper now that that start has a buffed Piledriver, but it might be fairly more interesting if it replaced Blink on Hedge Wizard; that background's overflowing with distance-creating options as-is, and could do with direct damage effects beyond Magic Dart, waiting behind 17:17:22 imps, or the limited charges of Grave Claw.) 19:21:34 <09g​ammafunk> Verdict on the new traps is that they seemed to do a decent job of complicating snake:4.
